Who are we ?
Firelighters Ministries is an evangelistic organisation situated in Wellington, South Africa. It was started in 2004 by Johannes (John) and Connie Botes. He is passionate about the Lord and the organisation was founded on biblical scripture.
The primary objective is to take God's Word to the people of South Africa who do not have a living relationship with their Creator and direct them towards God. A loving God, healing for hurt emotions and broken relationships, provider in our daily needs. Based on the following scripture from the King James Version of the Bible:
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:19-20
Since then ...
Since 2004 we had organised and run numerous Youth, Men's and Woman’s camps, Seminars and outreaches. God was so graceful that many people’s lives have been touched and changed, relationships restored - all glory goes to the Lord.
This whole venture was based on total faith in God, that He will provide the finances and equipment needed for these kind of undertakings. It was not easy to push forward when so many failures haunted each project.
The amazing thing is that all camps, seminars, outreaches etc was completed successfully and peoples lives were touched by God in some way or another and the struggle was worth it.
Today ...
We have been working in a town called Groenheuwel (Green hill) or as the locals call it "Smarty town". God has led us to start the home church like Jesus disiples did in the book of Acts. There was no formal church buildings or any infrastructure but only the unity of people working together to learn, grow and prosper in their own homes and towns.
Since then ...
We have come a long way since 2004 and although we have through God, achieved victories in bringing food and God's word to the people the need has never dwindled a bit. There is an ever growing hunger out there and we pray daily that God will provide the neccessary resources and more important, His presence in these gatherings. Without God's presence we might as well pack up and go home.
Looking forward ...
The need in the towns we work in is too great and it is easy to become dismayed and lose faith and all hope for a prosperouse future when one look at the circumstances some people live in on a daily basis, however...
A short while ago John shared with us a vision and mission from God to start a farm. The vision is to make it a place where families can come and receive teaching in God's word, healing for the body, mind and soul and be fed from the land we live and work on.
So currently we are praying for this huge miracle of a farm here in the Paardeberg district to do just that.
